Mississauga Pearson Airport offers cheap flights to major US destinations

Ultra-low-cost Canadian airline Swoop will soon offer travelers the option of departing from Mississauga’s Pearson Airport to New York, Chicago, Las Vegas and several other major US destinations for less than $100 one way.

The Calgary-based carrier yesterday (February 15) announced a “significant expansion from the United States” to new destinations that will see it add nonstop flights this summer to New York, Chicago, Nashville, San Francisco and Los Angeles. .

In addition to the new vacation spots, Swoop will also expand its current seasonal services to Las Vegas, San Diego, Palm Springs, Orlando, Clearwater and Phoenix.

In total, Swoop will serve 11 US destinations from Pearson, Hamilton and Edmonton airports.

“As part of our planned growth in 2022, we are excited to add five new popular US destinations to our network,” said Bert van der Stege, Swoop’s chief commercial and financial officer. “As Canada’s first ultra-low-cost carrier, we are increasing our fleet, expanding our network and adding services to existing destinations to ensure we are ready to meet Canadians’ pent-up demand for southern travel experiences. of the border.

Among the flights soon to be available, Swoop is offering the following services, with introductory one-way fares of $99 from Pearson Airport to:

  • Chicago, five times a week, starting May 30
  • New York, five times a week, starting June 20
  • Nashville, four times a week, starting May 26
  • Las Vegas, three times a week, starting May 20
  • Orlando, twice a week, already offered
  • St. Pete/Clearwater, twice a week, already offered

Swoop will also fly from Hamilton International Airport to Las Vegas twice a week, starting June 23, as well as to Orlando.

Beyond its US destinations, Swoop is also starting service to 10 new Canadian destinations this year, mostly on the East Coast.

Last December, Swoop Airlines began flying from Pearson to Kingston, Jamaica twice a week. His other The Caribbean destination is Montego Bay, Jamaica.

Swoop took off in 2018 and is owned by WestJet.
