MORRISVILLE, North Carolina — A Delta Air Lines jet skidded off a runway at Raleigh-Durham International Airport in freezing conditions Friday night, shutting the airfield down for about an hour.

Delta Flight 5501 landed safely around 9 p.m. EST after arriving from Washington, D.C., but as it taxied toward the North Carolina airport gate, it rolled through mud, WTVD reported- TV.
“The 13 customers on the flight disembarked safely. We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience caused,” a Delta spokesperson said in a statement.
The 19 passengers on board the plane were uninjured, WTVD reported.
Airport officials said the runway reopened shortly before 10:30 p.m. EST, allowing flights to resume landing and departing the airport, according to the broadcaster.
The plane was towed from the area just before 7 a.m. EST Saturday, WRAL-TV reported.
