COLORADO DIA TRAVEL: Travel tips to help you get cheap flights from DIA

DENVER (KDVR) — Coloradians looking to get some great travel deals are in luck. While other major airports are seeing an increase in airfare prices, experts say flights from Denver International Airport are still quite low.

According to Scott’s Cheap Flightsthere are many domestic flights from Denver for around $128 roundtrip, nonstop to cities like Vegas, Chicago, Seattle, Nevada, and San Diego.

The thing is, there are new travel hacks that experts say they’ve never seen before.

Most importantly, non-stop itineraries remain on sale until the last minute; we are talking about 2 to 3 weeks.

In the past, if you had waited this long to book your ticket, you would have ended up paying too much, as business travelers were usually the only ones to book this late.

But according to travel experts, all of the demand is currently coming from leisure travelers and because of this, airlines are aggressively cutting prices.

“So if you’re looking to book a Spring Break trip for example, you actually have a choice,” explained Willis Orlando, a travel expert at Scott’s Cheap Flights.

“All those domestic fares I told you about – all of them are available in March. It’s a super rarity – so folks looking to travel, especially to fun leisure destinations, keep an eye out for these dates over the next month. You can find prices.

Orlando says you should also keep an eye out for shoulder season dates.

If you and your kids have summer and are considering July fares, take a look at flights starting August 15 or later.

Travel experts say you could have a window of a week or two before the kids go back to school.
